Rocky Horror Show

Richard O’Brien
04 Oct 10 to 09 Oct 10
Liverpool Empire Theatre

Follow squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet on an adventure they’ll never forget, with the scandalous Frank ‘n Furter, rippling Rocky and vivacious Magenta.

With songs including Sweet Transvestite, Damn it Janet, and of course, Time Warp.

David Bedella’s superb Frank N Furter... His acting is a sight to behold and his deep, mellifluous voice gives the role... a strange combination of charm and vulnerability... Christopher Biggins... seems to revel in his role as the camp commander of proceedings... Haley Flaherty is a fine Janet... a set design which itself seems to have come straight from an episode of The Addams Family.
Liverpool Daily Post
...not the greatest musical ever written or even among the top ten. But it is one of the most successful... new designs... and they work pretty well, lots of projections, lights, gimmicks and ridiculous props... David Bedella... has a big voice both in the minimal dialogue and particularly in the songs where he bellows out the numbers... strong competition from Christopher Biggins as the narrator... The supporting cast give it plenty of oomph... It’s best not to dwell too long on plot, dialogue and music, most of it fairly average.
Liverpool Echo (Rating: 8/10)
...hard to work out whether it is a parody or if there is a point to the nonsensical, bizarre science-fiction story... songs, performed live by a rock band, are innovative and very clever... this reviewer often felt like an intruder in a sort of members only club... David Bedella as Frank ‘N’ Furter was the clear highlight... Christopher Biggins as the narrator was definitely the fans' favourite... the ending, which seemed to hint at a deeper meaning yet came across as shallow and quite frankly ridiculous, but the show was ultimately entertaining
